SALMON ARM - Dreamt up by owner Paige Murphy, Fern&Co. is Salmon Arm's first non-binary personal care service provider. The collective is home to a team of specialists who offer a range of services including microblading, spa treatments, tattoos, and eyelash extensions.

With over 9 years of experience in the beauty services industry, Paige felt that there was no need to have gendered services and wanted to focus on creating a welcoming space for everyone. Together with her business partner, Paige was able to open Fern&Co. in July 2022.

How EDP Helped
Community Futures' Entrepreneurs With Disabilities Program (EDP) played a vital role in helping Paige grow her business when she struggled to find the support she was looking for. Throughout the program, she participated in seminars and classes to build her financial knowledge and bookkeeping skills and ensure she was confident running her business. CFBC and EDP continued to offer support as COVID-19 took a massive toll on the beauty services industry and later, as Paige welcomed a child.

What's Next?
Over the next 5 years, Paige hopes to grow Fern&Co. and become a leader in her industry while continuing to provide a welcoming environment for all of her clients. She also hopes to expand Fern&Co.'s offerings to include a non-binary product line and offer more services for clients.
