Yoga with Erin B: Healing Through Movement

Yoga with Erin B: Healing Through Movement

NANAIMO - Erin Burden has turned her profound grief into a mission to help others through mindful, trauma-informed yoga. After the heartbreaking loss of her daughter Dakota in 2018, Erin was inspired to complete the yoga teacher training they had started together.

Through her business, Yoga With Erin B, Erin offers gentle yoga classes and retreats designed to support mature women and those grieving. Her classes focus on healing and mindfulness, providing a safe space for individuals to process their emotions and find peace.

"I am determined to honour [Dakota’s] memory by building a business that not only fulfills our dream but also offers solace and support to others who are enduring the profound pain of grief, or any kind.”

- Erin Burden, Owner of Yoga with Erin B

How EDP Helped

Erin’s entrepreneurial journey has been supported by Community Futures and the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program (EDP), who provided her with the resources and guidance necessary to bring her vision to life. EDP’s support was crucial in helping Erin navigate the challenges of managing her business, particularly after dealing with cognitive damage. With EDP’s encouragement, Erin gained the confidence to pursue her dream of creating a business that honors her daughter’s memory while helping others heal.

What's Next

Erin is committed to expanding Yoga With Erin B, offering more classes and retreats that cater to individuals dealing with grief and trauma. She is determined to continue Dakota’s legacy by building a community of support through yoga, helping others find light in their darkest moments. Erin’s dedication to mindfulness and healing will continue to guide her business as she grows her offerings and reaches more individuals in need.
